About The Drop In

Founded in 2015, The Drop In began as a small neighborhood coffee shop with big dreams. What started as a humble storefront in Chicago's vibrant West Loop has grown into a beloved community hub known for its exceptional coffee, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere.

Our founder, Sarah Johnson, envisioned a space where people could "drop in" any time of day and feel at home. Whether you're starting your morning with our signature espresso blend, enjoying lunch with colleagues, or winding down with craft beer in the evening, we strive to create an environment that fosters connection and comfort.

At The Drop In, we're committed to sustainability and quality. We source our coffee beans directly from ethical growers, our pastries are made fresh daily by local bakers, and our seasonal menu highlights the best of Midwestern produce.

Our Philosophy

We believe great coffee is an art and a science. Our baristas undergo extensive training to master the craft of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and pour-over techniques. But more than that, we believe coffee should be an experience - one that delights all the senses.

Our space is designed to be flexible and inviting. The warm industrial decor with exposed brick, reclaimed wood, and comfortable seating creates an atmosphere that's both stylish and relaxed. Free WiFi and ample power outlets make it easy to work, while our cozy nooks are perfect for catching up with friends.

Community is at the heart of everything we do. We host weekly events including live music, poetry readings, and coffee tastings. A portion of our profits goes to support local schools and arts programs.
